The primary aim of the repeater is to allow users access from mid and east Devon to operate over the undulating terrain of east Devon, the geography of the local area sometimes makes direct point to point communications difficult.

MB6AX Local D-star Gateway


MB6AX is a D-Star Gateway operating on 144.8125 MHz.  The keeper of this station is M1AXM (A Sidmouth Amateur Radio Society member); the station is located in Axminster, Devon, IO80MS.

The gateway operates using an Icom IC-2820 interfaced with a raspberry Pi 2, arduino usb interface and GMSK modem.  The antenna is a Diamond X-50N and the power output is that of 3dBW ERP.

Operating from the QTH of 2E0KVJ (A Sidmouth Amateur Radio Society member) and 1 mile south of Ottery St Mary, the FUSION Gateway is connected to the WIRES X network and operational as a simplex gateway on 144.825 Mhz. The gateway will be operational on an attended only basis and serves Ottery St Mary and local surrounding area.
